What is an IPL Facial?

What is an IPL?
An IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light Treatment. This is a procedure that is used to treat aging, acne scarring, sun damage, and even unwanted hairs. Some people even use IPLS to remove tattoos. IPLs can be done anywhere on the body, not just the face.
Unlike a normal laser, the IPL uses a laser that releases multiple wavelengths that look like a photo flash. Because of its multiple wave lengths, the IPL is able to penetrate down to the second layer of skin-- without harming the first layer of the skin. The wavelengths of the IPL give off heat that destroys the unwanted pigment.

How do I Know if I am a Candidate for an IPL Treatment?
You are a candidate for an IPL treatment if you struggle with one of the following:
Unwanted hair
Sun damage
Hyperpigmentation
Acne scarring
Freckles
Aging
Birthmarks
Varicose veins
Rosacea
How do I Prepare for an IPL Treatment
Before your procedure, please avoid the following:
Sun beds and UV exposure
Waxing
Chemical peels
Collagen injecitons
Retinol based products

How Many Treatments Should I Receive?
Many patients receive up to 6 IPL treatments, however, we recommend that treatments should stop after you get your desired result.
