WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL
A chemical peel is an acidic solution made up of naturally occurring acids such as alphahydroxy acid (AHA), beta hydroxy acid (BHA), glycolic or salicylic acid combined with other skincare ingredients. Chemical peels are often used in combination with micro-needling to resurface and improve the health of the skin.
Chemical peels can be very superficial, meaning less aggressive, to give your skin a beautiful glow;
or they can be deep, meaning that they penetrate deeply into the skin and can resurface the skin completely.
HOW DOES A CHEMICAL PEEL WORK ?
The chemical peel is applied to the skin to resurface the top layer of the skin to promote the growth of new skin cells. The regenerated skin is smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin, creating a fresh-faced glow.
WHO IS SUITABLE FOR A CHEMICAL PEEL?
Patients of all skin tones who seek to improve skin texture and radiance, fading of brown spots, acne or acne scar treatment, brighter complexion, sun damage, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and refined pores would be the ideal candidates for this treatment.

Acne scars and wrinkles have traditionally been treated with tissue destructive methods such as sanding, chemicals, or dermabrasion. Initially, the CO2 laser, and more recently, the Er:YAG laser have been utilized to treat acne scars by removing layers of tissue, thus allowing the formation of new collagen and elastin tissue, and filling in of scars. Unfortunately, these methods require a true surgical procedure, healing time away from work, prolonged redness, etc. A new approach to the treatment of acne scars and wrinkles has been the stimulation of collagen remodeling from the inside out i.e. non-ablative rejuvenation. Several long infrared lasers have been used for this process. It has been our observation that the 1064 nm wavelength, a laser wavelength that has been used safely for facial brown spots, hair removal, etc. for several years, also results in the stimulation of new collagen tissue with improvements in skin texture and tone, wrinkles, and acne scar softening.
Opus is a Hybrid RF + Plasma device designed for various skin treatments. It combines RF energy, which penetrates the dermal layer to stimulate fibroblast activity, enhancing the formation of collagen and elastin. This process results in skin tightening and thickening. Additionally, the device's specialized tip interacts with atmospheric nitrogen to create a plasma spark, causing controlled skin damage that triggers a healing response, thereby smoothing and brightening the skin's epidermal layer.
The treatment is most effective when administered in a series, with the outcomes and required number of sessions depending on the individual's skin condition and goals. The fractionated plasma technology ablates damaged tissue, promoting the formation of new, smoother, and brighter tissue.
Opus can address a variety of skin concerns including body scarring, stretch marks, facial rejuvenation, skin tightening, superficial pigment issues, dull skin, and large pores. Typically, treatments are initially scheduled monthly, followed by maintenance sessions 2-3 times a year. More damaged skin may require additional treatments.
While results are permanent, ongoing maintenance is necessary due to natural skin degradation. Visible resurfacing can be seen within two weeks, but full thickening and tightening benefits are best observed 90 days after treatment. Recovery varies, with healing time ranging from a couple of days to a week, and mild redness potentially lasting slightly longer.
